Buildings and structures transform a loop of track into a living scene. A well-placed station, a row of storefronts, or an industrial complex gives your trains somewhere to go and something to do. TrainFinder compares prices on O gauge buildings from every seller we track, helping you find the right structures at the best price.

Train Stations & Platforms

Every railroad needs a station. O gauge stations range from small rural depots to large illuminated terminal buildings. Lionel's classic stations include the No. 132 passenger station and various illuminated platform designs that date back to the postwar era. MTH and Menards produce larger, more detailed stations with interior lighting and architectural detail. A good station is often the centerpiece of a layout and anchors the entire scene.

Industrial & Commercial Buildings

Factories, warehouses, water towers, coaling stations, and engine houses give your railroad a purpose. Industrial buildings justify freight operations — a chemical plant needs tank cars, a lumber yard needs flatcars, and a grain elevator needs hoppers. Menards has become especially popular for large-footprint industrial buildings with detailed construction and competitive pricing. Many are exclusive to Menards retail stores but appear on the secondary market through dealers.

Houses, Churches & Town Buildings

Residential and town buildings fill in the spaces between the tracks and the industries. Houses, churches, schools, and shops create a sense of community on your layout. Lionel, Menards, and Woodland Scenics all produce town buildings in O gauge proportions. Lighted buildings with warm interior glow are especially effective on layouts that operate in simulated nighttime conditions.

Operating Accessories

Some of the most beloved O gauge buildings are the ones that do something. Lionel's operating accessories — from the coal loader to the icing station to the sawmill — have been captivating operators since the 1940s. Modern versions include sound effects and command control integration. These interactive structures add a layer of engagement that static scenery cannot match.
